Hi Dave,
I believe it's an unissued stamp from around 1914 (although I've seen auction listings dating these to the time of the coronation in 1909).
There's a note in Scott after Sc. #536.

I see from your pages that all stamps listed there have the capital 'C' prefix;
should I take that to mean these are considered airmails?
Or is this a different Designation in this specific catalog/reference book?
Unless I missed it, I din't see anything in the write-up mentioning that they were specifically airmail issues.

My fault,
The inventory numbers are the Persi cat. numbers. Similar to Scott. And Its been a long 10 hour day, I just got home, 'Airmail?' I see the word 'Official stamp'.

...and I also see the words,
"ordinary postage....official....postage due...regular postage..."
...and so on.
In the Scott catalogs a capital 'C' prefix denotes airmail stamps, which was my reason for asking, as I am not at all familiar with the catalog you show here.
...sorry for asking.

What the catalog fails to mention is that Saatdjian was a noted forger of the period best known for his Suez Canal forgeries.
Perhaps through his "connections", he was able to acquire used plates and put them to his own profitable use.
He often made new issues and had them printed. Any inverts are most probably not errors but manufactured for collectors. The firm Eschende he dealt with comes up often in other forgeries.

This stamp is obviously from Iran/Persia...but I haven't been able to find it in my Scott catalog. I've probably just missed it but any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Big Daddy Dave
