Silence in the face of adversity is the father of complicity and collusion, the first cousins of conspiracy..

The subject probably gives it away,
but I'll ask it anyway; Is there
any way to add an active date time display
on the header of the auction page,
so that bidders can determine how long
they will have to hold their breath ?
It could also help prevent antsy
North America members from wondering
why a member in Sidney or Darwin has not
replied to an urgent member-message.

I hate to admit this, as I've been around
this globe several times and dealt with
the time zones and changes many times,
but lately it may be that the
number handling synapses are mis-synapsin'
and I keep dozing off at the keyboard and
upon waking have been mis-calculating
the +/- 2 hour time difference when I try
to figure out how long to a bid's closing.
A few weeks ago I added or subtracted
the 24 hour ITL (Internationl Date Line)
correction in reverse in one of the discussions.
And in the past I was often the person
crewmembers asked how and why it worked.
Yes I do hate this aging business..

Agreed. It is all the more galling that aging is still better than the alternative.

I like your idea, though I think the best way to get what you want is for the auctions to simply list the number of days/hours/minutes/(even seconds?) until the auction closes.

This way the website doesn't have to report on the actual time (which might be a bit complex to arrange), and it is easy to tell at a glance how long until the lot closes.

This would help those of us that get confused by the American date format (DD : MM) VERSUS (MM : DD).

re: Time, Bid closing time.

So, if I add another line, under the Closing Time, that stated "Amount of Time to Closing:" x days, y hours, z mins, zz seconds. Would that work for you all?
