Hi Horamakhet
Yes, an imprint can make stamps more valuable, depending of course on what the stamps are. If the block or strip are common, then the imprint would only be somewhat of a curio for a collector, I have both curio imprints and important imprints.
Imprints on B.C.O.F. stamps are important, as the stamps are by no means common. Interested in seeing your new additions.

Hi Rob
Thanks for the info, will post them when they arrive.

Hi Horamakhet
I do not recall any SG numbers 204a or 199d. Could you explain what they look like. I have the 10th edition 2016 Stanley Gibbons of Australian stamps.
Rob
Hi Rob
The numbers listed by seller are stated as SG, but I think, the seller might mean Scott catalogue.
SG204a is 2d purple or mauve full face in oval of KGV1
and SG149d is a side face KGV1 6 and a half penny side face brown.
May be a couple of weeks before they arrive, but will definitely post them.

Horamakhet
Hi Horamakhet
Are these the stamps you are referring to. The mauve was printed in 1944 and the brown side face was printed in 1952 (the latter was issued on February 20, 1952. The King died on February 6, 1952, 14 days prior).
The Stanley Gibbons listing is SG205 (mauve) & SG249 (brown).
Rob
Hi Rob
Spot on.
Lovely stamps, I was trying to avoid buying stamps, as I have so many 1d red KGV to sort still. But you have truly inspired me.
I will be out of action for a week or so, as I am going into hospital for an operation. But when I come out I will have four weeks to recuperate, so I will be able to concentrate on stamps.
Regards
Horamakhet
I find collecting the 1d red KGV a massive task, I only collect certain ones. I like to help fellow philatelists. Good luck with the operation.
Rob
Hi Rob
I think I will give them a rest for a while as well, and work on all the pre-decimals for a while.
It will break the monotony of the reds.
Thanks for the good wishes
Horamakhet
Hi Brian
A strip with an imprint is as good as a block with an imprint. A very nice item.
Rob
Hi Rob, and all others
Here are my latest purchases of blocks of pre-decimals.
The circle at the base of the Six & halfpenny, is that a plate identification?
Will post other items I have found in my collection when I return from hospital.

Horamakhet
Hi Horamakhet
First, the question:
The circle at the base of the Six & halfpenny, is that a plate identification? Answer: No, it isn't a plate identification, it is a perforation pinning point so the perforator can be aligned to accurately perforate line-perforated stamps.
Nice clean blocks, and well centred, especially the 7½d, and some are imprinted, good acquisition.
Rob
Hi Rob and all others,
Thanks for the information which is very helpful.
I am now out of Hospital, recovering from my Heart surgery.
I will give me a few weeks to devote to stamps.

Hi to all
My latest arrivals of imprint blocks of four. I could probably post higher resolutions if required.

Hi to all
i have been inspired particularly by Rob, to purchase some stamps that contain Imprint blocks.
My question is,
Depending on who the printer was, and the time of issue, does the imprint more or less make the stamps more valuable, or are they just a curiosity factor.
I have purchased an imprint block of four of SG204a & SG199d, they are Australian pre-decimals.
I will post scans when they arrive.

Horamakhet
