Hi RBPuzzles!
Great to meet you!
I'm a hardcore newbie, so I post a lot of questions that have probably been posted a million times before!
This group is absolutely GREAT.

Howdy RB, long time no see. Sounds like you have finally lost it and gone WW. Hope you will find it as much fun as I have. Do you still have your Spain collection? Look forward to your postings.
Thanks guys!
Mitch HI! - Yes and yes. Still have MOST of the Spain collection, but did wind up selling portions, and some individual items off. And yes, took the WW plunge. It's funny, I started out as a WW collector 45 years ago, migrated to specialization, and now I'm back to WW. But I believe specializing has actually helped with my WW goals as well. Probably starting this leg of my journey a bit late in my collecting life, especially if I expect any degree of completeness, but I don't care. So far it has been a godsend to my sanity while working through the everyday stresses of life. I'm finding more joy in just sitting with a batch of stamps sorting them out.
Will be attending my first stamp show next month as a WW collector, should be interesting.
welcome back, Richard,
another philatelic roller coaster.....
Roller coaster, or maybe a merry go round, It sure feels like I've come full circle.
and you've even used the full circle CDS for your avatar, Richard
Hello...........again!
I must apologize for the drive by postings 2 years ago. I didn't mean to leave everyone hanging. I was in a state of flux in my life, as well as my stamp collecting goals. I wasn't sure if the direction I was going was going to stick and I lost track the fun things, like these forums.
Now, 2 years later, I am fully engaged in my collecting and my life has settled down quite a bit. Although, the current state of THE "OUTSIDE" world sometimes stresses me out.
I still have stamps!
So, how am I doing with my worldwide collecting?
As of today, I have 32,100 mounted stamps. Still a long way to go and countless thousands of stamps to sort, identify, make pages for and mount.
Been away from this forum for a while. Here's a short breakdown of what I've been up to:
About a year ago, me and the W moved, and we're still settling in.
Philatelicly, I've been on kind of a roller coaster. Many may remember my main collecting interest as early Spain, well that kind of ran it's course and I ran out of steam (money). So, I added Denmark and Sweden and almost a year ago I happened upon an opportunity, locally, to acquire a pretty big (to me) worldwide collection/accumulation, consisting of mostly unsorted, loose stamps. About 50 lbs worth.
This started me on my current journey of collecting worldwide stamps. I've been integrating my old Scott international album with what I bought, and mounting them on Steiner pages, which I love.
But I also love oddball, items, shades, varieties, postmarks, etc..., which aren't generally available on Steiner pages. So, I create Steiner "lookalike" pages using AlbumEasy.
It took quite a while just to get most of the stamps sorted into countries, and have spent the good part of the last 8 months or so, starting the long journey of id'ing stamps, printing pages, and mounting.
Right now, I stand at around 12,000 stamps mounted. Not a lot I realize, but I'm probably only about 10% through the collection.
I chose 32 lb, acid-free paper for my pages, clear Showgard mounts (bulk packs) for unused stamps and good ol' hinges for used.
I'm having more fun collecting now than I can ever remember.
Carry on! Just thought I'd re-introduce myself.
