Ian:
The lyrics look familiar. What time of year were you in Canada, and was this a song in top 40 rotation?
Darryl
Hi Darryl,
I was in Canada from July 17th for the rest of the year.
I was in Alberta and the memory suggests the song was played on the radio station 630 CHAD. It wasn't taped by me on a top twenty/forty show as I don't believe I ever heard a top twenty rundown on the radio.
I've looked for the song in various chart lists that you can download on the internet without any luck.
I've tried most of the lyric websites as well.
Ian:
The song is "Hot Love" by Abraham's Children. (At least, I think it is)
Darryl
Darryl:-
You are fantastic. The fountain of all knowledge. A music God.
I'll be able to download it from U Tube.
A thousand thanks.
Glad to help, Ian. Nothing otherworldly at work - my librarian/history researching skills helped a bit here.
Darryl
Simon and Garfunkel comes to mind.
I hope someone can help me find a recording of a song. I have no title or artist.
I have tried google etc etc etc.
Back in 1972 I was in Canada and managed to record this song on the old string and cardboard cassette recorder. However I have managed to lose that recording and would like to find a replacement.
The song was out around the same time as Alice Coopers "Schools Out", Chuck Berry's "My Dingaling", Terry Jack's "Concrete Sea" and Argent's "Hold your Head Up"
The chorus is:-
Hot Love In The Summertime,
Hot Love and I'm Feelin' Fine
Hot Love in the Summertime
I Gotta Get Away.
I've tried "Hot Love" and all you get is T Rex or Donna Summer.
I've tried "Hot Love in the Summertime" and you get "Hot FUN in the summertime" Sly & the Family Stone.
I've tried "Gotta Get Away" and none of their suggestions are the one.
Its been driving me nuts for weeks!
