Here is a list of the topics we collect. If you wish to buy or sell or solicit stamps, contact the individual directly via PM or post in the appropriate place. Do NOT post any offers or solicitations here!

If you have a link to one or more of your pages, send it to me and I will add it to the list. I plan to add a link to my collection soon. (I've been very busy lately and out of country, but I finally have some time to work on this).

If you wish to make updates to the list, just send me a PM.

I posted a new thread to keep the list at the top. Please keep the discussion going on the other thread. PLEASE DON'T POST HERE!

I will keep the list updated and post a new comment (to bump the thread back up) when someone sends me a link to examples of their topicals. I think we would all like to see what everyone else is doing in their topicals!

This is interesting. I would personally not consider #1s or One From Every Country to be topicals. I have a One From Every Country collection and there is already a threat for OFEC under the Worldwide topic in discussions. I don't know if there is a thread on #1s.

Another update today. You definitely need to see what Strider is collecting! Hopefully he can share some images on the other thread. If you have any web pages created with your topical collections, send me the URL and I will add a link to the list at the top of the page. I have a link to my topical, and I obviously have some scanning work to do!

I know this is a very small collection, but since I am a Doctor Who fan I would like to collect the very limited collection of Dr. Who stamps. I just started my collection by using the SOR auction picking up 5 stamps from Charlie2009 - thanks to Charlie2009 and all of you who didn't bid against me. I know there are supposed to be 37 Dr. Who stamps, but except for the 2013 set I just bought on the SoR auction the only other one I can find reference to is a 1999 British stamp with a Dalek on it. If any one knows of any others could you let me know. I don't want to join the Topicals Collector Society just for an interest in The Doctor. It's not that I'm cheap, I'm afraid they will get me interested in other topics and I spend a small fortune on stamps now!

"Do you have Aerophilately on your list."

This isn't my list, it's our list. To me, a topical is about a specific topic, like airplanes. Maybe only propeller planes, or maybe all planes and dirigibles and blimps and hot air balloons as well. A stamp with an airplane on it, even if it wasn't intended for airmail use, would be fair game.

Aerophilately sounds more like a specialty involving airmail. A crash cover that didn't even have an airmail stamp on it, much less one with an airplane in the design, would still qualify. For example, US 2532 doesn't have and airplane on it, or an airmail theme, or an airmail designation, but was clearly intended for International letter use. If that was on a crash cover, that would be a part of aerophilately but not part of an airplane topical collection.

Perhaps I am wrong on this. Can anyone else weigh in?

This from Wiki;

"Aerophilately is the branch of philately that specializes in the study of airmail. Philatelists have observed the development of mail transport by air from its beginning, and all aspects of airmail service have been extensively studied and documented by specialists."

Please add me to the Automobile list. I collect anything with a car on it that strikes me. I especially like old dealer and manufacturer's corner cards on covers.

The second cover has the Pontiac Indian Chief logo on it.

OK, I keep adding all these names to all these topics but NOBODY has provided a URL (web link) to show off what you have! If anyone else has a link to their topical collection, send it to me and I will add it. Mine is on there (albeit a bit out of date), but it's an ever evolving project!

It needs to be a web address so anyone can look at it.
You could probably put images on separate topic post and I could link to that. It would need to be in it’s own post so this page doesn’t get unmanageable.

It's not a problem with making the link work. Here you go:

http://www.fisa-web.com/

The problem is that's not a topical collection. It's a society. I'm looking for specific collections that people have of a topical to share. Another good link is the American Topical Association:

http://www.americantopicalassn.org/home.shtml

But again, I want to see what others have put together.

Lars

P.S. I plan to work on mine a LOT this winter and get it fairly close to finished.

Sorry Larsdog I must have misread the original post, but surely a Society or an Association are basically a group of people with a common interest - in this case topical stamp collecting, be it birds, fish, planes or airmail covers.

I now read it that you want links to individuals who have their own Website showing their own topical collection. Am I right?

re: List of topics we collect and samples

This from Wiki;

Done.

OK, I keep adding all these names to all these topics but NOBODY has provided a URL (web link) to show off what you have! If anyone else has a link to their topical collection, send it to me and I will add it. Mine is on there (albeit a bit out of date), but it's an ever evolving project!

Lars,
I don't have a link to a website but I can send a file with examples of my "Fire" collection.

Vince,
It needs to be a web address so anyone can look at it.
You could probably put images on separate topic post and I could link to that. It would need to be in it’s own post so this page doesn’t get unmanageable.

Another option would be to prepare an exhibit for here on Stamporama. Check under the home link for instructions.

re: List of topics we collect and samples

It's not a problem with making the link work. Here you go:

http://www.fisa-web.com/

The problem is that's not a topical collection. It's a society. I'm looking for specific collections that people have of a topical to share. Another good link is the American Topical Association:

http://www.americantopicalassn.org/home.shtml

But again, I want to see what others have put together.

Lars

P.S. I plan to work on mine a LOT this winter and get it fairly close to finished.

re: List of topics we collect and samples

Sorry Larsdog I must have misread the original post, but surely a Society or an Association are basically a group of people with a common interest - in this case topical stamp collecting, be it birds, fish, planes or airmail covers.

I now read it that you want links to individuals who have their own Website showing their own topical collection. Am I right?
