Hello Dusty,
Welcome to the friendliest Stamp Club on the Internet.
Jim
Welcome !!
Hi Dusty;
A big warm welcome to you from Northern Michigan!
Still just sortin'....

Welcome Dusty from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA!
I'm always interested in how people travel and end up living in different places! What brings you from Iceland to Thailand?
Also if you are new to collecting USA, at what stage are you? If you either private message me (from the Stamporama system) or email me (modlcitizn@aol.com) with your mailing address, I'd be pleased to send you a good selection of USA! I happen to be sorting a huge mess of them across my dining room table right now!
Hi Ben Franklin.
Thanks for your interest and reply. I left my native country of Iceland at age 21 and was roaming between Chile, US and Russia for few years before settling in northern Thailand. Fast forward 22 years, I now live and work in a city on the border of Thailand and Myanmar/Burma.
As mentioned in my introduction I collected stamps as a kid, but didn't think of stamps at all until about 2011 and then bought some in 2012. For the past year or so I have dived into the deep end of the pool and really "rediscovered" the pleasure of stamps collecting. To my surprise, it seems this hobby is alive and thriving, however due to my isolation here I really don't have anything to base that opinion on, other then what I read on the web.
Look forward to communicate with you and hopefully many others here. Seems a very friendly place and informative.
Regards, Dusty.
ps. Ben just sent an e-mail.
Welcome to Stamporama. A lot of well-informed collectors in here.

Hi Dusty!
Hello from Southern Michigan, USA!
Great to have you here!

Hello Dusty
I am in Bangkok and much like you in rejoining the hobby after a long break. My collecting interests are Siam/Thailand, GB, British Southern Africa and a topical/thematic collection of the DC-3 aircraft. What town are you in?
Danny
Welcome aboard. As a newcomer myself, I can attest that this is a great place. People have been very helpful and inspiring.
I had a nice PM exchange with Jon (aka DustyMiller) and he was kind enough to send some Thai stamps to my grandson Dylan. He was thrilled to get a letter from Thailand. Here is a picture of Dylan enjoying his new stamps.

Dusty, I would enjoy tapping into your experience with some of the rare Iceland classic issues, particularly the overprints.
As my Iceland collection moves past the mundane and into the sublime, I have become ever more watchful for minor variations missed by inexperienced sellers. (I already have 'all' the bicolor inverted frames, even though they do NOT command a value premium.)

Hi Paul.
I am afraid I am fairly new to collecting so I have not really moved into these expensive and more rare Icelandic stamps. Still focusing on completing the independence period.
Cheers, Dusty.
just love our members who help the kids.... very nice.... thanks Dusty
Welcome and enjoy with SOR
Thank you for accepting me to your club. I am originally from Iceland, but live now on the border of Thailand and Myanmar. Collected stamps as a kid, took a 30 year break and just got back into collecting few years back. In the last year or so, the bug has bit really hard. I.e. serious time and money being spent on this wonderful hobby. My interests (at the moment) are primarily Russia, Myanmar/Burma and Iceland, but also Cameroon, Faroe Islands, Greenland and recently US stamps.
I have enjoyed reading many of the threads here being inspired and learning from many of you.
Regards from the Orient, Dusty Miller.
