Turns out that we are both right! I am using Scott, while the dealer is using the Unitrade catalog, which has the listings reversed! I guess I need to find a recent Unitrade catalog.
Canada 2692 Baby Wildlife Definitive (63c Woodchuck) is Serpentine Die Cut 8.15 to 8.50 Horiz. (Rounded tips with 3 'nibs' between stamps).
#2692A is the 63c Woodchuck, Serpentine Die Cut 9.2 Horiz (Rounded tips).
These have the repeating 'Canada' underprint.
Check the reverse of the stamps.
Since Unitrade uses Scott numbers, it would be Unitrade that is wrong, unless Scott changed the catalog numbers. They do this now and then. The information I provided came from the 2017 Scott, so if a number change was made, it would have to have come from the 2018 or 2019 catalogs. I would not bet on that having been done, however.
He sent me a photocopy of the page from his Unitrade. It is switched when compared to Scott. So I guess it is wrong. This was the second time I had ordered this stamp from a Canadian dealer, and the second time I received the 'wrong' stamp. Now I understand why this is happening.
The information I have posted was taken from the latest edition (2018) of the Unitrade Catalogue. The definitives listings appear in two locations of the catalogue - the regular listings and the Definitive Stamp Locator listing at the back of the catalogue.
If you have any doubt with Unitrade's information I would suggest contacting Robert Harris, the longtime editor of the Unitrade Catalogue.
That's Robin Harris.
I need some help. I have several copies of what I believe are 2692A. The perfs all measure 8.25. They also have several nibs along the perf line. I read the Scott catalog as 2692A. The dealer I am working with insists that the 2692 is the stamp with perf 8.25 and the nibs. What I am I missing?
