She is just the 3rd woman (Marie Curie was the first!!) to win this illustrious prize - and the first since 1963. That's a 4 year longer stretch than the Toronto Maple Leafs winning their last Stanley Cup!!!
Dr. Strickland now joins our very own Kelly Fleming ("Poodle_Mum") as a strong, intelligent, science-oriented woman from Guelph Ontario that I can point my daughters to as inspirational role models!
P.S. Joan Baez has yet to meet with Dr. Strickland or give her a bunch of roses, unlike our gal Kelly!

Proud to watch this morning's news and learn that Dr. Donna Strickland (from Guelph Ontario) was a co-winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics.
