I'm back! We (my wife and I) have been flipping a house all summer, so I was "away" going that.
Great to be back!
I was just looking through a couple items at my desk and thought I'd post this FDC, for no other reason then that I liked it. And Christmas is coming! And that scene reminds me of "It's a wonderful life" the movie. Lastly, this FDC makes me think of Santa and his long white beard... and I'm thinking about growing a big beard, and it'll be all white!
I also like the FDC for the following:
- Interesting green/red (Christmassy!) colored shading of the characters in the drawing
- The word Christmas is in a very "rough" font, that kind of reminds me of that era and maybe even the "Flintstones"!
- It was literally issued 56 years and a day ago at EXACTLY 9:00 AM.
- Strangely, I think the adhesive "gum" marks on the envelope are cool cause they are a testament to the age of the FDC
- Nice church scene, literally reminds me of a place near where I grew up that was very festive during Christmas.
Any way, enough said!
Just my 2 cents on an otherwise (maybe?) drab FDC!

Yeah, no surprise there... I don't think anyone is going to be able to accuse me of having any kind of high dollar collection!
I'm like the most casual of collectors that there probably is.
I see things and they kind of strike my fancy, so I comment about them... Kind of esoteric, for sure!
Anyway, thanks for the tip! It might be cool to collect all those varieties of that FDC for Christmas!

A true collector !
So many ( but no doubt no-one here ) specialists take themselves far too seriously ! It is a hobby for goodness sake,not an obsession. Now for me Gardening is an obsession!

I greatly appreciate your reflection!
I have WAY too serious of a job that MUST be taken seriously, to EVER take a hobby seriously.
But now, exercising on the other hand... I do probably take that a bit too seriously!!! And a bit obsessive... Room for improvement there for sure...
Anyways, I digress...!
Stamps, FDCs, covers, etc. Not sure why one grabs me over the other, but they just do!
Fun stuff anyway you shake it!
