Hi to all

Just a few items from the Australian states collection.

I have not even begun to check the watermarks, or colour variations.

The first stamp is the 1854 penny black imperf. Pity the postmark is so messy.

There are more pages of Western Australian, and pages of all the other states as well,

Regards

Franz, awesome! In my humble opinion, Australian States is one of the most iconic areas of the hobby. Australia during this time always kind of seemed like the Wild, Wild West. A rugged, yet-to-be-fully explored frontier. Very cool indeed.

Hi Horamakhet

The 1854 black is worth somewhere in the vicinity of $120-$150 in that condition, and it is no easy feat to find an 1854 swan with a lighter cancellation, and it seems that the former owner of the state stamps was focusing on shades and obliterater marks of the WA stamps.

Check and see if they have watermarks and what type of watermark and if any do not, they are very important to the value of the stamps. A fine selection of WA swans.

Hi Rob & ernieinjax

Thanks for the comments.

I will check each one carefully for the watermarks and type, it will be a long term exercise, but enjoyable one.

I will post some of the other states as well.

I agree, I think that the former owner was focusing on postmarks and shades, and I think that he was doing that with the other states as well.
