Triangular postmarks were used throughout the British empire to cancel mailed printed matter such as newsletters, catalogs, newspapers, pamphlets or religious tracts. Printed matter usually was sent at a cheaper rate than regular mail.
OK, I haven´t seen this before but now i know! But it fits perfectly with the ½d stamp,
