I must apologize for the delay in posting this new issue set,but have been laid up in hospital with cellulitis in my bad leg so have been on intravenous antibiotics ,am home now but still immobile and have to get my wife to do my running around .
This issue released on the 5th of Feb.another in the "celebrations series" 8 stamps by $1-00 and 1 x $2-00 in sheet ans S/A booklets format.

Today the 26th Feb. Australia Post Issued one x $1-00 stamp "Welcome stranger" It is the largest Gold nugget ever found in Australia and weighed over 100 Kg ,when smelted it yielded 71 Kg of gold.It was found in 1869.Also issued in S/A booklet of 20

Today 26th of March Australia post issued a set of stamps for the Australian Antarctic Territory " AAT Casey Research Station 50 years" consisting of 2 x $1-00 & 2 x $2-00 issued in sheet and S/S formats.

Today the 16th of July Australia post issued a set of stamps entitled "Moon Landing 50 Years.
They went to town on this issue with 27 different items.
the issue consists of 4 x $1-00 stamps and a S/S plus booklets of each in S/A format and also a coil roll of 100 S/A.

Today 1st of August Australia Post issued a set of stamps "SCM in the Garden" 4 stamps at $1-00 & 1 stamp at $2-00 issued as sheet, S/S measuring 21 cms x 17 cms and 3 of the $1-00 stamps in S/A booklet format.

There are actually 2 booklets of s/a stamps for this issue. A close examination of the Stamp Bulletin shows the booklet of 10 x $1 has 10 copies of the Pollinators stamp (the larger $1 stamp), while the booklet of 20 x $1 has a mixture of the 3 smaller $1 stamps.
I sent a complaint to AP a few years ago about not showing what was in the s/a booklets when a 10 stamp booklet and a 20 stamp booklet were released for the same issue. At least now it is (just) possible to see what each booklet contains.

Well I'm back from my holiday,now to catch up with the new issues that Australia Post has released while I've been away.
on the 13th of August they issued a set entitled "Bush Citrus" 3 x $1-00 ,issued as sheet and S/S and S/A roll of 100 .
Next one is for the AAT "Mapping the AAT" 4 stamps 2 x$1-00 & 2 x $ 2-00 issued as sheet and S/S .
Third and final set is for Christmas Island "19th -Century Explorers"
Issued as sheet and S/S stamps.

Australia Post has introduced "Collecting Community" and as a gift for joining I received one of the "In the Garden" S/S only these sheets issued to collectors who join the "Collecting Community"are unique,they have been treated with a special coating that only shows up under UV light ,(which they also give you)as a keyring and it shows the rays of the sun all through the sheet including the stamps.
So you need to check any of these stamps that come your way ,as they could be from the special sheets?

Released on the 10th of September a single stamp " Murchison Meteorite"1 x $1-00 issued in sheetlet of 10.
Interesting reading about this meteor shower that came down on the 28th of September 1969,It belonged to a rear class called Carbonaceous Chondrite and are considered to be very primitive meaning they retain chemical properties from the time they were formed 4.56 billion years ago.

Today the 23rd of September Australia Post issued two more stamps on it's "Beautiful Cities" theme .this time with the new international postage rates $3-20 Sydney and $5-00 Perth.issued as sheet stamps and a S/A booklet of the $3-20 stamp.

Nice stamps, but why do countries put their name sideways, could they not adjust to read vertically downwards. Bad as trying to read book titles on a library shelf.

Today the 1st of October Australia Post issued a set of stamps commemorating the Centenary of the First Flight England to Australia in 1919 two stamps 1 x $1-00 & 1 x $3-20,issued as sheet,S/S,booklet 20 x $1-00 S/A and a sheetlet of 5 x $3-20 S/A.

Well we have a very late issue today this stamp was issued officially on the 1st of October only problem was NO post offices had them.Well done Australia Post, my philatelic counter received there's last week ????

Here they are released today 1st of Nov ,Australia Post's Christmas issues not all of them yet. Have not purchased the 3 embellished sheetlets. Due to AP sticking them in a folder and charging another $1-95 for a piece of cardboard.
There are 2 issues one for Australia and one for Christmas Island.The Australian set consists of a set of 5 stamps 3 x 65c& 2 x$2-20 and a S/S plus the sheetlets
And for Christmas Island we have 2 stamps 1 x 65c and 12 x $2-20 plus a S/S and an embellished sheetlet of 10 of the 65c.

Well I thought we had finished this year ,but AP decided to increase the local postage rates supposedly in the new year but have already got the stamps on sale.
Issued in December entitled Fauna II,4 stamps 2 x $1-10 1 x $2.20 & 1 x $3-30 also the two $1-10 are in S/A format as well as the normal sheet format.
