Hi all

This is a question that Rob would be best qualified to answer

After searching through 200 odd 5&1/2d Emus, these three stand out more than the others

The centre one seems to be more visible than the other two.

Any of them qualify as thin paper.

They are all used.

re: ARE THESE EMU'S ALL TRANSPARENT OR IS ONE OF THEM THIN PAPER?

Hi Horamakhet

The paper used for the regular stamp is as transparent as the thin paper, only a micrometer will be able to tell which is which. Normally the deeper shade would suffice in determining thin from the regular stamp, but not for this particular printing, as the regular stamp is transparent, it too absorbs but not as much, both having nearly the same shading.

How did you end up with 200 odd emus, or were they at a dealers?

Send them my way and I'll test them for you.

Rob

Hi Rob

They were in an accumulation of stamps that my wife found in an opp shop years ago

I Just put them into a stock book, and forgot about them.

I ended up with lots of 1/2d orange roos that way as well,

Unfortunately, all are used specimens

I can send you all the emus to test if you wish

Hi Franz

I'll need to find a large paddock to house the emusRolling On The Floor Laughing. I know I'm just being Silly. Send all the emus to me, I'll look through them all and separate any thins and send both back to you.

Thin paper emus used and unused are rare, my emu will be in the new ACSC (along with other unlisted rare and very rare stamps I have). Once the thin emu is officially catalogued, a value can be given.
