re: one penny stamp

A likely candidate might be Stanley Gibbons Victoria 313f (1894) Brownish orange. Design by S. Reading. Typo from electrotyped plates.

Scott catalogue version is #169. Described as Orange brown.

I chime in as a non-expert. But I did spend last night at a Holiday Inn Express.

Cheers!

Hi Pooh

In the Stanley Gibbons Catalogue it is Orange-Brown and originally issued in 1890.

Hi Pooh

The SG doesn't give much information, it never does, the watermark is a Crown over A, the SG number is 313b and the value is 75p used.
