yes; perfectly legal
I thought international regulations (UPU?) required denominations/values on international correspondence?

Virgil,
You might be thinking about the rate increase stamps with a letter on them, they can only be used for domestic mail.

If memory serves, during the first years of the 'forever' stamps they were not valid for use on international mail.
Then, that changed.

I've even received a domestic mail package with the International Forever stamp on it!
The International Forever stamp is valid for use on domestic mail.
Ikey, I believe you're correct.
The comment on the lettered rate change stamps is also correct, but I have used them on international mail, and the post office accepted it. I can't say for sure if the post office is tolerating such usage, or the ban was lifted for those as well.
Thanks everybody for your kind reply. Virgil
we're getting "non-denominated" (ND) and "forever" (F) stamps mixed up. Fs are NDs, but not all NDs are Fs.
In the early days of US NDs (for rate hikes), they were NOT valid for international mail; later iterations, probably around (22c) WERE valid.
All F stamps are valid on domestic and foreign mail.
Now, good luck finding someone who works at the PO to tell you the values these NDs. Some change with the rates; others are fixed.

Jan,
I understood the semis to be equivalent to a forever stamp, always paying the US first class rate. Is that not true?

Well, that took long enough!

Can I use forever stamps to send a regular letter overseas as long as I make the shipping cost?
For example two forever stamps ($1.10) and 5c stamp? Thanks, Virgil
