Hi Rob
Nice to see them all lined up like that
Makes me wish I could just put my hand through a dimension of some sort and grab what I would like.

Hi Horamakhet
The way I displayed the stamps shows the transition from pre-decimal to decimal value, the Navigators was so favoured by the public that the stamps were included in the new value series in 1966.
I might go into my Queen Victoria collection (there isn't too many of them) and see if I can find some that I can post.
Ron
Hi Rob,
Would love to see some of your Victorian collection
I can imagine how good it must be, as it is nearly impossible to get good Mint stamps from that era
Franz
Hi Franz
My Victorian collection consists mostly of proofs (one unissued) and specimens, the proofs are very difficult to find in MUH and if one is found the gum has been removed.
With my Victorian stamps those without gum were printed without it and others have full gum.
Rob
On February 14, 1966, Valentine’s Day, Australia said good-bye to the old pre-decimal currency and adopted decimalisation which is still in use today. 52 years have passed since decimal currency was introduced, and the stamps shown are a fitting display looking into the introduction of the new stamps of a new era.
Some stamps were re-issued with the new value; others were discontinued at the introduction of decimal currency.
For instance, the 1963-64 Navigators, with the exception of the £1 Flinders stamp which was re- issued in 1966 & 1973 survived the change-over.
The 4/- = 40 cents; 5/- = 50 cents; 7/6 = 75 cents; 10/- = $1.00; £1 = $2; £2 = $4.00.
Other stamps that survived the change-over were the:
1) Yellow-tailed Thornbill
2) Galah
3) Golden Whistler
4) Scarlet Robin
5) Straw-necked Ibis
The birds that were discontinued at the start of decimalisation:
1) Black-Backed Magpie
2) Blue Wren
