Welcome!!
I think we both began about the same time, my collecting dates back to 1962, when the Project Mercury stamps came out. Unlike many I never stopped since. This is a friendly group and you will enjoy your time here.
Welcome FF

Yes, very close to starting at the same time. Actually, I believe you began a couple of years earlier. I started in 1964 and have been at it ever since.

I can pin my entry into stamp collecting very precisely.
I received a Minkus Worldwide album as a Christmas present. In 1966. I know the year, because the last space in the album for US stamps was for the 1966 Christmas issue. And, the first stamp into the album was that Christmas stamp, probably taken from a Christmas card envelope delivered to the house a few days prior!
It was all downhill from there!

Hi amsd:
Thanks for your welcome.
Cinderellas are my newest collecting field, but I am finding it more and more interesting and challenging to find specific items. It is difficult for me to limit the scope of my collecting. I started out seeking items from philatelic events only, but soon found myself buying state and topical-related s/s and labels as well. Cinderellas on cover is another favor area of mine. I'll show some of what I have as soon as I learn the ins and outs of posting images.

can't wait to see where your collections are taking you.
I concentrate primarily on tied Christmas and Easter seals and any Santa Claus Post issues, but I'm also an opportunistic collector, and I find my collection always expanding. I've written about aspects of my collection in the DB and in articles

Just joined today and am exploring the board to find the topics and threads of most interest. I've been collecting for 55 years and have amassed quite a few stamps and covers. I started collecting U.S. mint commemoratives and morphed into a collector of used world-wide stamps, mostly definitive series, plus a wide range of covers and cinderellas. Looking forward to getting to know the members on this forum.
