Brian, the Scott US Specialized catalog lists the Ryukyu revenue stamps. (The regular volume 1 does not.)
It looks like yours is R18, issued in 1959, with a 2017 mint nh cv of $3.00.

I had totally forgot I do have a copy of 1997 Scott's Specialized Catalogue ,I just got it out first time in years !!I didn't think to check it ,mind you I didn't have any idea what country it was from .

Could someone please tell me which country issued this stamp and the year .I've trawled through china taiwan manchukuo.Have I missed it?
