My partner and I spent the week-end visiting the Expo, we enjoyed the company of friends and made new friends, it wasn't the crowd size the organisers hoped would attend (mostly because of the rain) but it was still a good turn-out and parents with their children were visiting for the week-end.
I saw a boy spend $50 on stamps with his mother close behind, his smother said he kept his pocket money until the stamp Expo, the moment he bought what he wanted he sat outside on the steps and proudly stared at his new acquisition and then placed them carefully with tweezers into the album he brought along.
The exhibits were by far the best I have seen presented at any of the past Expositions held in NSW. I have taken an assortment of photos (hopefully none are blurred).
Next year there will be a major stamp fair to be held at Newcastle and we will be there.
So back to showing what I bought at the Expo.
This stamp is now part of a series of 3d blues in my collection, this specimen issued in 1937 is die 1, and the bottom frame is thinned under "AU" of AUSTRALIA. It is a very scarce variety and like the others already posted it is in mint unhinged condition.
Thinned under "AU"
