Alphabet? Puzzle? Or, a made-up sign/prop from a SciFi movie?
Seen on the rear window of a car in traffic in Queens.
Not long ago, an intermediate (f/k/a junior high) school principal was being interviewed on the radio about the low test scores in her school. "Give me teachers in every subject who are TOESL certified, and we'll make progress. Students in my school alone speak exactly 114 different mother tongues at home."
So, forgive me if I have no idea what I was looking at.

Not Hebrew.
Siamese features several letters that are the same shape as several Hebrew letters.
Best bet so far is Klingon.

My guess is that it's a Korean script.

I'm putting a lot of faith in the over-line, which is (to my knowledge) only found in a few South Asian languages.
Thought its also got a certain right-to-left thing going ...

I found this, and think there are remarkable similarities. This is the socalled Square Kufic script, mostly used for ornamental writings. By no means an expert, so I have not got a clue what it actually says.
