You will need to get it expertised.
As you're in London, I'd suggest the Royal Philatelic Society London (RPSL). It wil cost you 2.5% of catalogue value, but I think that's good value in this case

I took the stamp to stampex in the end and it was looked at by a few dealers . It is in fact a superb example and not a fake ! Very pleased . Won on eBay with other 2d blues that were quite in bad state. .
Any experts on the 1840 2d blue would be very helpful .
