I believe the extra 25pfg was for Special Delivery.
"Durch Eilboten zu ..." can't make out the last word, but it might be "befehlen"
I do not have a rate schedule for special delivery of the period, but registration was 20pfg, so it sounds about right.

This is an uprated five pfennig postal card. It is uprated to 30 pfennig, the rate charged for pneumatic post. It is not an rohrpost card. I cannot read the handwriting beyond seeing that its destination was Berlin. The postal mark indicates it was mailed in Stendal. So it was not sent by pneumatic post. The Stendal cancellation gives the date of April 4, 1884. This type of card was introduced in February 1884. I do not recognize the small round postal mark, but it resembles other 'received marks from the period. Can anyone explain this card's rate? And any other information would be appreciated.
