O Fortuna Is a personal favorite Think I have half a dozen or more recordings of Carmina including the live one from the Forbidden City on blu-ray.
I must admit I like Andre Rieu. He and his son know how to put on a show.
I'm a fan. His type of show is a bit unique and of a type that is disappearing... Here's something a bit more upbeat
Did you read some of the made up lyrics to to Carmina Burana on you tube? Funny!

If you want to get most of this lot interested in classical music you would likely have more success with lola and hauser
I do not like the bombastic modern Carl Orff version of the Carmina Burana.
Because of my interest in the middle ages, for me the Carmina Burana is a collection of medieval drinking songs that has been recorded by a variety of early music ensembles. Like this one https://youtu.be/_PueRGIbNg8
I’m more of a fan of French Opera like Lakme or Bel Canto Italian.
How about a song from a Gilbert and Sullivan Operetta?

I wore out 3 vinyl copies of "A Night At The Opera" in my younger years...

Old joke that's been reworked many, many ways....
....and yes - still funny.
They do say that there are only three jokes and any joke is a derivation of one of the three.
My general love/hate with the uk is interrupted by a genuine appreciation of the humor of the UK. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite but its hard to deny a pre-eminent spot to Richard Wilson (one foot in the grave, only when i laugh, etc), but only as one of many greats. Jeeves and Wooster, Faulty Towers, Are you Being Served, Yes Minister, Allo Allo, Vicar of Dibley, Ab Fab and most anything done by any one of the actors in any of those series I would say thumbs up. Heck even Minder, Avengers, etc. Yet we must decry the uk ~ how could anyone contrive to condemn PG Wodehouse... for shame... I despair of the world quite often. On the other hand some of the modern humor ... Black Books, Father Ted, just to mention a couple of many ... are lost on me.

In this thread you say "we must decry the UK". In another thread you slate the BBC.
