Well, at least I got to have a haircut in the Penny Lane barber shop.

I've gone a bit catalog-cross-eyed trying to match the script in this one.

Hi earwaves,

This is a one baht official stamp from Thailand from 1963.

The picture is upside down.

That's quite a shift of the silver-grey frame!

Thank you, Nigel.

I guess the decimal point should have helped me get the picture right-side-up.

I suspected that it'd be some sort of Official by the design. Scott's says it was a test stamp to monitor use. Some years ago, I was in a USPS program that had me record destination times for the mail I was receiving. I got small gifts in return.

It's Thailand, Scott #O5. Even the image in Scott shows a good shift of the silver frame. From other examples of these stamps, it does seem to be common, but earwaves stamp is a pretty darn good misregistration of the silver.

Also, just for the record, one of the stamps from this set is pictured in the Illustrated Identifier at the back of every Scott Standard Catalogue.

Yes, I should have caught that in the Scott's Identifier. I will plead misregistration!
