In 1994, Nicaragua issued a set of eight souvenir sheets (Scott #2020-2027) that depicted reported alien sightings in different parts of the world, but mostly in the United States. Fact or science fiction? I guess it all depends on your point of view.

The image below is Scott #2021, and depicts a reported alien sighting in Argentina on June 26, 1965. Interesting that the information regarding the sighting is in English, and not Spanish.

re: Nicaragua - Science or Science Fiction?

Curious series. Nicaragua (like many other countries) was big on issuing stamps to appeal to all sort of collectors....a common method to fund government coffers on the back of stamp collectors. I am familiar with Nicaragua issues on baseball, UPU, Olympics, locomotives etc..etc..but aliens? Who collects that as a topical subject?

I think a bit of science at this point would help

Now there may be still unexplained sightings, but the alien explanation... is it just a point of view? The alien explanation while popular with some, is devoid of scientific grounding, and as good as any other woo woo explanation. (time travel? worm hole? holograms? demons? ghosts?., etc..)
