Enjoy.
It is actually a 4 day weekend for me. I do not work Friday's and for the first time ever the company has declared Martin Luther King Day as a company non-work day. Of course this is not an additional day each year. Chinese New Year is next week and our co-workers over in Asia are getting ready for that so it will be a quieter week next week and the following.
Hi mestephil/angore,
The subject line caught me!
This is THE FIRST time in 18 years at my company that we will have off MLK day, making it a 3 day weekend (woohoo!).
My company decided to swap New Year's Eve Day for MLK, I think to show their diversity.
So, I'm sure I'll be sad this year when December rolls around, but for now it sounds pretty good to me!
We're supposed to get 5-8 inches (12-20 cm for our metric friends) of snow tomorrow in Southern Michigan (USA), so that'll make stamps a priority!
I have been enjoying my topical collections lately, so that'll be the focus this weekend, plus a little playing around with AlbumEasy.
Anyway, have a GREAT weekend!

Where in Southern Michigan? I grew up in Kalamazoo.
Hi Philatelia,
LOL! I went to college at WMU in Kzoo.
I live a bit more East in a town called Tecumseh (very small, just a skip from Ohio).
Small world!
Note: Your byline got me to go over and check out Colnet.

That's right, CNY is sneaking up and starting mid next week our Asian colleagues all bail for a week and a half! Gonna be a productive time to get work done with out conference calls in the evenings, and no forest fires to fight.
Thanks for the reminder. I'll get to have more stamp time!

My weekend started today. Woke up to a nice winter storm. Schools, roads and everything else is closed down. We have a blizzard warning tomorrow and then sub-zero temps for the holiday.
Lots of time to work on the stamps and make a big pot of Chili. Stay warm.
I work a salaried middle management position in the human services field that comes with the additional "perk" of being on call 24/7, so yesterday was spent making sure my managers are well prepared for the snowstorm that's supposedly coming to the East Coast today and for the holiday so I can enjoy myself.
I plan to spend the weekend relaxing and organizing more of my stamp collection. I'd like to put at least 50 stamps in Big Blue and work on my want list for Denmark and Iceland.

It has been a long annoying week pretending to be diligently working. Thursdays are the busiest and the worst. I'm getting myself mentally ready for a relaxing three days of sorting and fondling stamps.
It is starting out with a phffft..... Small envelope arrived today from an EBay buy - cost me an entire 99 cents for a coil strip of pre-sort rate stamps. I purchased them on a whim at the end of December. I mean 99 cents. How much trouble can that be? Then they didn't show. After ten days I sent a polite note asking if they had been mailed. Late last week I received response, "Sorry, they were returned. I'll send out again." Then a couple of hours later I got a notice saying I was being refunded. Today the refund was still pending ($1.39 with tax and postage) when the envelope showed up. I open it up and see a note, "Sorry for the delay!" But there are 2 strips of coils, not one as I ordered. Now I am wondering, do I owe him $1.98 plus tax and postage? Will the refund complete?
I don't drink normally, but I went to the kitchen and cracked open a bottle of Baily's over ice and had one.... OK, two.... maybe three. I've been craving a Bailey's since flying home from Christmas with the kids. The lady next to me on the plane had one, and I mentioned it looked good. That prompted her to talk for the entire trip. Since then I have been wanting a Bailey's. Tonight seemed appropriate.
I'm kicking off work early tomorrow....
Everybody have a great weekend!
