Hi all,
I'll start.
1) I like to read and lift weights - but not together! Although, to be fair, I have never tried.
2) Cindy is my amazing cat - I'm a big cat person
3) Pizza of course! Or my wife's Jambalaya!
JR
Okay, I'll jump in;
1) OTHER HOBBY - my Detroit Tigers baseball card collection.
2) FAVORITE PET - sadly, I had to put my long-time sidekick of 15 yrs. - my dog Sable - down approx. 2 yrs. ago, so we have no pets at the moment; therefore, I guess it would be my grand-dog, Hooper, who is an 8 yr. old Golden!
3)FAVORITE FOOD - a tie between a BIG mess of smelt OR fresh-caught yellow lake perch pan-fried over a campfire!
(Now I'm hungry and missing my dog as I look thru my baseball cards....)
Hi MM,
Awesome!
Really tough on your dog! Time for a new pup?
JR
Been thinkin' about it....!
1, family history.
2, Our dog Patch.
3, Lincolnshire or Cumberland sausages, or proper fish and chips.
1- Music, listening to it, collecting it and reading about the artists. Blues, Big Band/Swing, traditional Country & Bluegrass. My wife just picked me up a DJ Copy of Johnny Cash & The Tennessee Two, "Life Goes On" flip side "Oh Lonesome Me"
2- Billy, a Dalmatian we had about 25 years ago. No pets since.
3- Philly Cheese Steaks.
1. Cooking and Baking
2. My schnauzers Zener & Ampere
3. A perfectly aged Medium Rare Filet Mignon yuuuuuummmmmmm
1. Walking & hiking
2. no pet, unfortunately
3. Painted Desert Noodles - so good
1. Reading and Computers - lately reading mostly about stamps and stamp collecting, some history, and computers.
2. Pet goldfish named Eve (by my wife) although I tend to think of it as Lazarus since the fish survived going into the garbage disposal! We have now had it for 9 years.
3. A decent warm, hamburger is probably my favorite, even as basic as a McDonald's hamburger if fresh from the grill, although my wife makes a quite varied range of real competitors which is why I have gained 50 pounds since we got married thirty-two years ago! Her father owned a restaurant in New Jersey with a real, trained chef and she would say that her favorite is a rare filet mignon even when she was a child. She mostly tolerates my food choices!
Quilting, genealogy, and baking.
My son’s dog Fonzie. A rescued mutt with personality plus.
Grilled chicken salad. Anything chocolate.
1. Flying my Ercoupe
2. Animal free!
3. Fried rice with beef
1) I am an ex-antique dealer so I collect many other things, but I think I'll say reading. I'm on my own with no one to tell me what to do so I go to bed early at night and read for a couple hours. I'm now re-reading all the James Bond stuff.
2) Have three cats - my favorite is a seven year old rescue cat (from my back yard) called Obi, from Obiwan - all my cats have Star Wars names. The other two are Luke and Qui-gon.
3) My comfort foods - fried hamburger with onions and mashed potatoes, corn chowder and the ribs a friend I went to school with makes. Maybe also KD with added hamburger & onions. I also have a thing for canned meat balls and gravy with mashed potatoes!
1. Golfing
2. Grand-dog Panda, 12 year old English Spring Spaniel
3. Dungeness Crab
So many great answers!
LOL! Some of the pet names and foods were VERY interesting!
Keep the comments coming!!!
1. Older movies especially sci fi
2. Bo and Abby (our cats)
3. Something with curry (India, Thai, Singapore).
1. Genealogy for 43 years.
2. Romeo - my chihuahua sidekick. He tolerates the stamps as long as I have beef sticks and gourmet cookies for him.
3. Pepperoni pizza. I lived in East Aurora NY for 13 years. It was a village of 7,000 when I first moved there and I discovered the village had seven pizzerias. Cheap too, compared to California. Thought I had died and gone to heaven.
1. Reading and watching TV programs about gardening, especially Gardening Australia. Not much good at putting it into practice though.
2. My Pomeranian called Chanel which started as my youngest daughter's dog. She is having an operation today to remove a bad kidney I'm afraid.
3. Nasi Goreng, Indonesian fried rice, which used to be my breakfast of choice. Otherwise cheese of any type even with the resulting indigestion.
Oh yeah! Old Classic movies, forgot to list that one.
And today when I went to market I was pleasantly surprised by all the spring stone fruits, I had forgotten them over the winter months. Nectarines, my favorite since I was a child. Peaches, apricots, plums. I stocked up today.
I don't have any other hobbies, although I do read a lot; spend as much time as can with my daughter, Maggie; and play Clash of Clans.
I've had three dogs in my life, and loved them each: Luna, a rescued shepherd-husky-wolf mix, as fierce as the mix would suggest; Ursa, a long-haired German shepherd who lived to please and whose vocabulary was incredible and who could spell about 30 words; and Dehlia, my current shepherd, willful and smart and loving (her sister was Sieger champion in Europe, so she comes from amazing stock).
A cheese plate with accompanying wine can keep me occupied for hours (Manchega, St Andre, and Wensleydale would be a good start, maybe with a Pauillac or Petite Syrah)
David
My son in law has a German Shepherd and I have to admit that dog is tremendously smart!
He has taught that dog a lot of obedience and tricks, etc. Just a very cool dog!
My favorite dog was my "Dirty Tim". He was a little Jack Russell that was just a mile a minute and completely full of himself. He thought he was a very, very large dog and was utterly fearless! Just such a cute, fun dog, but kind of ferocious in a small way, LOL!
We had a small dairy goat farm at one time and Dirty Tim got in a fight with a raccoon and was mildly injured, and while he was limping back up to the house he couldn't resist killing a snake on the way! Jack Russells are intense.
Anyway, he was a good one...
1. Where's George? (https://www.wheresgeorge.com/). Take any US currency, enter the serial number on the site, stamp it with a WheresGeorge rubber stamp, and send it back out in circulation. When someone else sees the bill and enters it on the site, you get a notification - how long it's been out there and where it was found.
2. Lara. A recue dog named after the black-haired adventuress Lara Croft of video games. Her first adventure was chewing on the vacuum cleaner cord while it was in use.
3. Paella
1. Coins
2. Lars (of course)
3. I will be at Dave's enjoying some cheese and wine.
1) Royal Doulton Kingsware.
2) Jemma our poodle - now sadly blind,14 years old but doing well.
3) Curry but medium - not really hot.
1. Coins
2. My beautiful 2 year old Golden Retriever, Charlie. He has some sort of nasty skin infection and has scratched all the hair off of a 6" section of his tail. I tried iodine for a couple of days but what a mess. I guess I'll take him in to see the vet tomorrow.
3. Pinto beans, cornbread, fried potatoes and okra, sliced vidalia onion, iced tea.
Make sure his flea and tick protection is up to date.
1. Model Trains and Cooking
2. A cat called Cat.
3. Burger and Fries (I'm addicted to Fries)
1. Brass bands
2. None (not since a goldfish called Freddy when I was at school)
3. Roast lamb
1. Crossword puzzles
2. Sam, my English Spaniel
3. Nearly anything with garlic, the more the better
1. Heavy metal
2. Cody, our Berner Sennen dog ("Bernese mountain dog")
3. many things: lasagne, German spätzle, Brussel sprouts, Indonesian food...
Quilting
Too many dogs to pick a favorite.(would offend my family lol)
Anything I don`t have to prepare !!!!! or clean up!!!!
1. Hobby
2. Pet Names
3. Food
Don
1 Model cars
2 my cockapoo Ted died a few years ago
3 Buffalo wings followed by barbecue ribs
1. Building scale model aircraft and the occasional ship, armour, or vehicle.
2. Snug, our black lab. We still miss her, even though more than 20 years have passed.
3. New Mexico style enchiladas, topped with a fried egg, with sopapillas and Dos Equis or Corona beer. Second choice: butter chicken with basmati rice.
Hi all,
Okay, just for fun!
1) Name one hobby you like other than Stamps
2) Favorite pet's name
3) Favorite food
Go!
