I really like the new higher value books even though none has been done yet for any of my areas. I have a question. How much of a pain would it be to set up a system to allow us to zoom in on each stamp? If it's really hard to do, don't worry about it, we'll muddle through. I just thought it would be a good idea.

re: Is zoom possible?

If you don't want to increase the size of your screen image by ctrl + then right click on the image, copy or save, then paste into or open in Irfanview then increase size or zoom in on the bit you want.
Bear in mind that you will lose clarity the greater the enlargement because of the original scan size.

re: Is zoom possible?

Sorry, I really don't want to go through all that - I guess I'm lazy by nature. I thought there was a way it could be posted such that zoom was real easy. If not, don't worry about it, it's just if someone wants $40 or so for a stamp the ability to see it better might be a good thing.

re: Is zoom possible?

I am quite sure that if you asked the seller for an individual scan of the item they would do it, especially a $40 stamp.

If you don't ask you don't get.

I don't understand how much more work it is to press and hold the control key and then press the plus key as much as you want to zoom in the picture?

Michael - I'm not a techie, I just tried the ctrl + and it worked fine. I didn't want to do all the cut and paste stuff! I didn't really know what he meant by ctrl +, but now I do. Thanks!!!

Computers are funny... you really do learn a new trick every day!

I've been in the IT field for 25 years, so it's not like I have no experience with computers, but I have never actually tried/realized the "Control + " zoom option.

Pretty snazzy! Happy

Now, if you want me to help you configure a large scale network storage device, or to help you virtualize your server farm, I can help you there... but just not with any actual cool tricks like the "Control zoom".... Winking

Thanks for the tip!

re: Is zoom possible?

I use the zoom a lot every day but usually do it with the mouse wheel (ctrl + rotate mouse wheel forward or backward).

I use a track pad instead of a mouse. Pinch/un-pinch (?) works great. Same thing on iPad where the entire screen is a trackpad!
