Very early on I came across this page which looked a little suspicious in that the cancellations are too neat...so on further checking I find that they each have full gum on the reverse. Does the fact that they are to me fairly obviously cto's devalue them or make them less desirable?

yes, they are cto's. But they are also stamps one does not see very often.
Do you like them? If yes, they are desirable. I do not collect French colonies myself, but if I did, I would be pleased having them in my collection.

Some may want to devalue them because they have are likely CTO but I would keep them and not worry about getting non-CTO versions.

Recently bought a v.large French Colonies collection ( about 1,000 pages running from Alaouites through to Yunnanfu ) and I know next to nothing about them.
