Wow, there's more traffic in my little town than in Manila!

People just don't seem to get the message here.

Here in Brighton outside the house 5 minutes ago, a never ending stream of cars.

The people in Manila and the island where Manila are located are under martial law. Their president has issued "shoot to kill" orders for anyone found outside their home.

I didn’t take a picture of the highway but here’s one of a local shopping area in Exton Pennsylvania the other day. We are pretty much shut down!

re: Just noted this on the Net: Covid 19 Traffic Report (Manilla , Phillipines)

I just returned home after an aborted trip to the liquor store: There were way too many people on Robson Street, and I figured that the liquor store, on Saturday evening (and closing early because of Covid-19), would be very busy. So I came home and raided the liquor cabinet for an anti-Covid-19-stress reliever, a gin screwdriver.

When I was leaving our apartment building, I ran into our next-door neighbour (at a distance); he told me that his wife, Lisa, had fallen and badly broken one of her arms as she tried to avoid a guy on the sidewalk who was ignoring social distancing. I hope there is a special place in Hell for guys like that... Lisa suffers from rheumatoid arthritis, as I do, so her immunity system, like mine, has been compromised.

re: Just noted this on the Net: Covid 19 Traffic Report (Manilla , Phillipines)

Another Covid-19 note. President Trumps suggestion that the drug Plaquénil (hydroxychloroquine) could cure Covid-19, was based on one French trial that involved so few people and such a short time as to be inconsequential. But he sure has caused a problem for people like me, who need that drug to control the worst effects of rheumatoid arthritis. I've been taking Plaquénil for the last eight or 10 years, and it helped to work a minor miracle by making it possible for me to be relatively pain free. Now, however, my pharmacy tells me that they may have trouble getting Plaquénil because of Trump's suggestion, which is meaningless except to people who seem to believe every word he says.

There's another "layer of concern" here as well: Every year since I've been taking Plaquénil, I've been told to have a annual "field vision test" to check the health of my retinas. Why? Because Plaquénil can cause total blindness in as little as 24 hours from the first sign of vision problems. P. Trump didn't mention that (I seriously doubt he knows it), nor has it been mentioned in any story I've read about Plaquénil. I've written two emails to the producers of the evening news on Global network, but they have not responded. I also wrote to a Washington Times journalist, but she hasn't responded either.

Further to Covid-19: This Propublica article, What We Need to Understand About Asymptomatic Carriers…, could be one of the most important articles you'll read this weekend. It could save your life.

Nothing like that here! Cars & people everywhere. Except after sunset. I just came back from a walk & encountered one other person with his dog. And he was the first to make a move to avoid me. Everyone else just steady as they go, with me out on the road.

Also saw a few houses with people out at a fire. First house had quite a few round their fire. I guess people can't count past 5. That's the largest grouping you can have now, unless you are all family. But to say anything to kids these days will only get a response of "OK Boomer" and probably harassment as well!

I went to Walmart for prescriptions then to the grocery store yesterday. Maybe less than half the people wearing masks, including store staff. Both stores had distancing measures in place, and people were scurrying around like chipmunks avoiding one another. There were families out shopping including one couple with two babies.

My wife and I are taking walks in the neighborhood. There are others out as well and everyone smiles and waves but keeps distance. One little dog we always pet cannot understand why we can’t get close and cries. I’ve taken to taking some photos of spring as we walk. I’ve been putting those out on Facebook for our family and friends as my Normalcy Photo of the Day

.

Some 30 countries were trying to get India to export the drug which it had banned. Trump said export it or "else"

Brazil touted its potential as reducing the virus by "94%"
They prepared the first tests with great fanfare and media announcements
80 patients were administered the drug - 11 died of severe heart complications within 6 days
The test was abandoned
