Looking at an approval book - can anyone tell me what Yvert #413 would be in Scott's so I can be sure I have the stamp. I'm pretty sure, because of the date given, that it is #413 in Scott's as well. Can anyone confirm that for me please?

Thanks Dave That means the person posting the book has it wrong and I don't think I'll bother. That's the trouble with the early Franklin and Washington stamps, the buyer and seller pretty well have to be using the same identification system.

Harvey,
If you are trying to ID Washington Franklins, I'd suggest the StampSmarter website if you aren't familiar with it already.

re: Yvert # to Scott#

I'm not really trying to identify anything. There was a high priced book that went up earlier where the stamps were supposedly given Yvert numbers. There was a US stamp called #413 that to me appeared to be Scott #413; I found that a bit strange and all I basically wanted to do is see what the Yvert #413 converted to as a Scott's number. As far as I can tell I already have the stamp, but I wanted to be sure. With old Franklin and Washington stamps conversion between systems is difficult.
