re: Unidentified German stamp

I think one giveaway on this stamp, to try and determine the year of issue, is that it is valued in both Euros and Deutschmarks. Although I don't know the specific dates both currencies were used, but it would definitely make it "turn of the century."

We have had notes and Euro coins since January 1st 2002. On 2000/2001 most countries of the "Euro-goup" started to issue dual-currency (local currecy/€) stamps. So, your stmp is very likely to have been issued on 2001.

Almost "Cursus", almost.

The euro was intoduced in January 1999.
But the first stamp in Germany with a dual currency (Deutsche Mark / Euro) was presented on May 12th 2000.

On September 28th 2000 there were 3 other stamps issued with the dual currency.
Sehenswürdigkeiten 10 Pfg / 5 Eurocents, 110 Pfg / 56 Eurocents and the 300 Pfg / 1 Euro and 53 Eurocents.
And the 110 Pfg issue is what FORRESTERD is reffering about.
As of the year 2001 till 2002 the values of the stamps were all in dual currency.

All this was done to get the people familiar with the euro currency.

So date of issue September 28th 2000.
