Hi, I recently came across these stamps in an envelop of miscellaneous items that I'd purchased. I know that the red one is a Greek revenue stamp of some kind and I'm guessing that the dark blue and gray-blue stamps are also... However, I'm not sure as similar stamps are list in the Scott catalog. Any information on these 3 stamps would be appreciated... They were obviously issued in or about 1912. What are the overprints on the 2 blue ones? I'm sure they are of little value but I don't like not knowing something about items in my collection... Thanks for any feedback! re: Request for Information...

Hi Dave,

The first one is a regular postage stamp (SG 256A / Scott #N155) from the Greek 1912 victory set for use in newly acquired territories.

The postmark is from Salonica / Thessaloniki which was captured in 1912.

The surcharges on the other two are from 1917 and reflect a tax surcharge that essentially converted the stamps into charity / postal tax stamps (SG C308 & C309 / Scott #RA15 & #RA16).

Thanks for all the information! Sometimes I just go 'page blind' looking for stamps in the Scott's catalogs...and this was one of those times. Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
