Scott#126b is the stamp, but this has a strange symbol over the overprinted word "Postage".There is nothing in Scott to show any variations, so does any one on this forum know anything about this overprint. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

This looks like official stamp Scott #071 with an OS overprint as well as the surcharge.

Thank you both for your help on this stamp. I never thought of the extra squiggle as an OS official, now I can see it in the catalogue.
