I recently acquired a collection that has a bit of MNH Israel. Haven't had too much experience with Israel in the past and have a couple of questions. Am I correct in assuming that having the tabs increases the value of the stamps? If this is so, there are some listings that I don't understand. take, for example SC 642-644. Value for each stamp MNH is 20c.(I'm using 2011) Under this, it says 642-644 with tabs 35c. Is this per stamp or for the 3?

re: Israel Scott Pricing

I have a much older Scott (1996) and there is a price for the set without Tabs followed by the price with Tabs.
Many of the earlier stamps/sets have much higher values for stamps with (full) Tab. Not only were they printed in smaller quantities but also in larger sheets which gave only a few with Tabs.
Stamps from the early 60's were printed , mostly in smaller sheets some of which gave an equal number of Tabbed and untabbed stamps. In these cases the prices for both can be almost the same. There are of course a few exceptions.
For your example, my old catalogue gave each stamp as 15c, set price of 30c and the tabbed set at 35c.

re: Israel Scott Pricing

I agree with London bus 1.

There are many catalogues of Israel: Bale is probably the most famous and was originally published in the UK.It now is published in Israel. There are several other local catalogues published in Israel. They all follow the trend below, but there is a wide range of catalogue prices.

However mint tabbed stamps are almost always more valuable than used or untabbed stamps. Pre 1952 stamps have the most value, except for a few. The 60's and 70's was a period of high inflation , lots of collectors , and lots of stamps issued. This period is generally low value. Later stamps after the mid 80's are more valuable as you move towards today's new issues. There were less collected from the 80's-90's+ to 2020 and postal rates were higher, so these stamps have a bit more value.
