Hello, I thought I would introduce myself.

My interest in collecting is not stamps, but just selvage for its own sake. It surprises me that few people pursue this. There are endless varieties - perf, part perf, imperf, with color bars, numbers, sheet cut marks - the list goes on and on. One problem is the lack of good printed albums - Scott, Minkus, White Ace have all neglected this area. I tried to interest the Steiner people, but no luck.

One really great thing is that I get so much selvage for free. But now and then I treat myself to something special. After saving for a LONG time, I bought a 15 cent US Columbian plate block. I removed the stamps, and the selvage is now a centerpiece of my collection. It's a gem - I'll post of picture of it in the near future.

PS I'm probably kidding about all this. But you never know - people collect all sorts of things. I'll leave now with a trivia question. What stamp issuing territory, listed in the Scott catalog, has the word "Stamp" in its country name? I'm sure some old hands know the answer, but maybe hold off a bit with posting it until newbies can scratch their heads a little.
