With my many other areas I collect US Duck Stamps. I decided to go from #1 to #75 - not sure why since my normal US cutoff is 1976 (Duck #42, I think). I have complete to #67 and have noticed a trend. It seems like the newer ones are more expensive than the older ones even though book prices don't show that. Can anyone think of a reason?

re: Why are the newer Duck Stamps so expensive?

I have now finished all the Duck Stamps to number 75. I even re-bought a couple that I had on license to make the collection look better. Some are mint, some are used, and that's fine with me. I noticed that the newer ones were quite expensive and decided to end the collection where I did. I think if I ever found the newer ones at a more reasonable price I might continue. I decided to stay away from the state versions because of the huge number that exist - I have added a few countries to my collection and decided to stay there for a while. It really is nice to finish an area. Next will probably be the Poland BoB that I collect (only need a handful in my Minkus album). I already have The UN complete to my 1989 cut off. I know most of my major areas will never be complete, but it sure does feel good when I write complete on my want list!!
