#UO7 uses picture UO5 for identification and indicates that the number is 9 1/2 mm high. Color is black-lemon.
My questions: Are the number measurements taken from the outside edges of the number or the enter side of the number? The pictures in my catalogue are not clear enough to tell.
What is the difference between UO2 and +UO3, besides value?
I have about 20 cut squares of this nature and measuring from the outside of the number I get 9mm on some and 9 1/2 almost 10mm on others.
Any help appreciated.

I'm a serious US collector but because of comments like yours I decided to take the cut squares section out of my album. Obviously this doesn't help with your question, just sayin' ...

I do not normally collect cut squares, but with time on my hands and a large box of cut squares thought I would spend some time looking. Now believe I am going to put them back in the box and forget I have them. Will now go mow the grass or something else exciting.

I'll wait until Thomas G. replies to your question, he is more knowledgeable than myself.
But I will add this...for years and years I stashed cut squares away until I had thousands. When I fell ill about 6 years ago and had implemented a self imposed moratorium on new purchases, I revisited them and discovered a new interest for me.
I used Vario pages and dug into them.
I found that flexibility of the Vario pages was a Godsend as a learned the various Dies and paper tpyes; sorting, re-sorting, and organizing them as my understanding grew. Plus, I think that the cut squares look pretty good on the black pages. I added some printed labels to each row, added some header labels for each section and then a title page. I am pleased with the result, a nice cut square presentation which supports expansion whenever I get new material or gain new knowledge.

I hear you. I only have a moratorium on new purchases until I win the lottery, then look out!! Like you I stashed hundreds of cut squares away because I just did not want to throw them away. Finally pulled them out and as you mentioned, opened up a whole new area to learn. Just starting, but I like your idea of Vario pages, so will start with that. I have the Scott pages up to 1960, but feel I need to get organized before putting any in the album.
