Latin America/All : Barbados: watermark challenges

Happy holidays!
This query pertains to the Barbados 1974 - 1979 Orchid series. Which has two watermark (Scott 314: St. Edward’s crown and multiple CA) options: Upright or sideways.
The stamps I am working with are in mint condition.
Have made numerous attempts to identify the watermark using watermark fluid, black paper, and SAFE watermark detector. No success.
Interestingly, when I place the stamp in watermark fluid, the back side of the stamp appears to turn a light grey, and what appear to be paper “striations” become visible.
The front face of each stamp appears to have a glaze coating.
Would appreciate learning if anyone else on SOR has also experienced this challenge.
