Hi Horamakhet
The different shading may have been by not adding the right volume of ink when refilling the ink cylinders on the press, this is a common occurrence as the printer did not see it important to reject the slight colour change, this slight difference is harder to detect with much better equipment today.

My wife bought a whole lot of albums in an opp shop and and there were quite a few of this issue attached to Telegraphs, but ripped off the Telegraph itself.
I have another set of four that are different shades again.

Whenever Victoria and I search the op-shops in different suburbs throughout NSW we come up empty, when you or your wife go stamp book hunting you seem to always find them, it looks like the next time we go hunting, we're going to have a quick trip over the border (when it is safe that is).

Hi Rob
We seem to be lucky at the opp shops
Also here are another four colour variations of the Light Horse Stamp.
It is interesting to note that all the variations all originated in the Telegraph Office in Elizabeth South Australia.
Is it maybe a case of the post officials noticed the variations and sent the worst to such places, sort of similar to the worst George V stamps been perfined OS?
Hi to all
Now before anyone suggests that these are faded, they were all attached to the one piece of paper.
Now I know that Gibbons says various shades, but these three were soaked off the same piece of paper. It was not coloured, It was plain white paper, and I soaked them off on Saturday not realizing that I had three different shades on the one piece of paper. Next time I will watch what I am doing but as there were lots of them I did not bother to check. Interesting find.
