re: Mystery Austria stamp

Republic of German Austria 1918–1919

After the collapse of the K.u.k. Monarchy, a republic was proclaimed in Austria. The new rump state alone was considered viable by almost no Austrian. Thus the connection to Germany was considered safe. This led to the official designation of the Republic of German Austria as the official state name for only a few months.

In order to be able to cover the urgent need for postage stamps quickly, the remaining stocks of the franking, newspaper and express stamp series of the monarchy between 1916 and 1918 were given an oblique imprint German Austria and issued from December 1918.

Very interesting Henry. Any idea how many types of revenue stamps with o/p exist? Is there any reference I can find. Clearly the Scott catalogs fail me here.
Also curious if the black border was part of the stamp or added at a later date?
Thanks

Well it is not my cup of tea (as the english would say) but I found interesting posts on another forum :

Lots and lots of examples here......

This is one of them and it seems that this 1910 serie has different borders for different values.
Have fun reading those posts.
