With the changeover in SOR, and reflecting on today as International Holocaust Remembrance Day, I am stepping away from my "lemaven" persona and will let my membership lapse. I'm sure some will not miss my opinions and warped sense of humour.
Instead, I want to get more serious about The Holocaust Stamps Project. Toward that end, I am finalizing the donation of all my stamps still held in "The Hoard" (remember that?) along with the numerous collections/accumulations I have since purchased or have been gifted by family and friends. Once counted, this should push the total of stamps collected from one-third of our target of 1.5 million (one for each child's life thrown away in The Holocaust) to close to one-half.
At the same time, I will continue to buy/trade stamps from/with SOR members for the much more limited scope of my personal collection.
Starting tomorrow I will launch new sales as existing member "holocauststamps" (details to follow). I am going to cover the mailing costs related with these sales so that all proceeds will go into The Holocaust Stamps Project account for use in purchasing Holocaust-related stamps for the "Philatelic History of The Holocaust stamp album" now in progress.
All the best to everyone.
Cheers, Dave.
