Hi all
I hope this message finds you all in good form. I need some help with finding the pages for Spain's telegrafos & timbre movil ( I think these are revenue stamps).
I am using the Steiner stamp album up to 2006, the year I purchased the disc, but cannot find the pages for these stamps. I could make up my own pages if I knew the number of stamps and the value of the stamps. Would somebody mind helping me with this, please ?
John

re: Re: Spain

Hi John. A quick look at the catalog section on Colnet for Spain Telegraph stamps shows 97 issues. The ones I looked at have Yvert et Tellier or Edifil Catalog numbers so I am guessing if you can get one of them you can use it for your collection. The most recent date I see for a stamp on the Colnet site is 1963. I would think that even an old version of either of these catalogs would have them listed in them. That is a guess on my part, maybe someone who has either of these catalogs can take a look and confirm for you.

re: Re: Spain

I can't help you with pages since I use vario pages for my stamps but here's some info on telegraph stamps according to my edifil cat.
They were not good for postal use unless they were issued in the late 1800s with both correos y telegrafs. inscriptions, some regular postage stamps were used as telegrafs. by punching a hole on them, rendering the stamps useless for postal use.
A total of 92 stamps were issued as telegraf. only according to edifil, the last set of 8 stamps was issued in 1949.
Edifil lists them on a separate section pretty much like scott lists airmail, semis, etc. etc.

BTW, this info was taken out my 1987 ed. Edifil, I also have 1997 and 2006 eds. there's no change except for the stamps values that now come in euros instead of pesetas.

Believe the “timbre movil” issues are revenue stamps.

Do not believe Steiner’s pages for Spain include
listings/places for either revenue or Telegraph stamps.

But Steiner does include some DIY page/layout options.
