josef,
It would seem that this one is quite a mystery, as its been 3 days and no responses!
The following is just a guess/observation;
the border looks very similar (to me) to the issue of the Feudatory State of Dhar in India (see image for Dhar A1 below)
Obviously it is not an exact match, but it is the closest 'match' I have seen thus far.
Anyone else have an idea??
Thank you very much for your reply. I understand it is difficult to decipher the stamp. I have spoken to some collectors in my area where I live but they tell me that they do not find anything similar in the catalogs. On the sides of the stamp you can see signs, they can be numbers or letters, it's not clear, maybe someone would be able to decipher them?
Could you post a better image, say 900 pixels, of just the front of the stamp, scanned at as high a resolution you can get.
May help someone to identify it for you.
Hope they go well.Thank you for your interest.
Guess it’s subject to interpretation.
See a shining city upon a hill.
issued by the now-defunct Rorscharch Society
David,
So it is not a stamp but a seal, right? Do you have any more information on the society?
Tim.
sorry, Tim
another of my tongue lashings i've given my cheek
Rorscharch was referring to the number of different things folks were ascribing to the stamp.
Rorscharch developed images that were used to elicit responses from psychological patients.
But i do wish there were a Rorscharchian seal-issuing society. That would be an incredible hoot
"issued by the now-defunct Rorscharch Society"
thanks Dave,
maybe i've escaped without having yet another blot on my name
Is there any more detailed information on these kinds of stamps, or are they not listed in any catalog? Simple curiosity. Thanks.
Best wishes. I am looking to identify the stamp in question to find out if it is a stamp or if it belongs to the genre (in Italy they are called erinnofili). I ask for your consultation to also be able to understand in what state it was issued. Excuse me, but I couldn't figure out what the exact position of the stamp is as a drawing.Thank you.
