When placing a bid on an auction listing, enter the maximum amount that you'd want to pay for that item. Your bid will show as the minimum needed to beat the next highest bidder, in other words, the lowest competitive price. If another buyer bids again, the Hip system will continue the successive bidding on your behalf as indicated, up to and including your maximum bid, but not beyond. If you are no longer the highest bidder, you will receive an email notification.
Per this from their help page, it is Ebay-style

Thanks, Mike.
I couldn't find it on HipStamp's site.
I haven't used it in auction mode before, just a few Buy It Nows.

"Let's say the seller places a minimum bid of $10 on a HipStamp item. If I bid $12 and win, with no other bidders, do I get it for $10?"
In other words, if you place a bid for $12 and there are no other bidders, the listing will show that the current bid is $10, and $10 will be the hammer price if it closes with no other bidders.
Yes, if there are no bids you would receive the item for the listed minimum bid. I received one item where I bid $12 against a $9.95 minimum bid today for confirmation!
Do bids on HipStamp work like eBay or like Kelleher?
Let's say the seller places a minimum bid of $10 on a HipStamp item. If I bid $12 and win, with no other bidders, do I get it for $10?
Or is it like Kelleher Auctions, where "strategic overbidding" is the price I must pay if I win, even if I'm the only bidder?
