I came across this article on CBC news:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/nft-sale-beeple-christie-s-non-fungible-token-1.5945737

"A digital artwork sold for nearly $70 million US at Christie's on Thursday, in the first sale by a major auction house of a piece of art that does not exist in physical form.

Everydays - The First 5000 Days is a digital work by American artist Mike Winkelmann, known as Beeple. It is a collage of 5,000 individual images, which were made one-per-day over more than thirteen years.

The sale of the work for $69,346,250 put Beeple in the top three most valuable living artists, Christie's said in a tweet."

Since I would always pick my stamp collection to that Beeple digital nonsense any day of the week, I must have billions of dollars worth of actual art that is in addition material! (not that we cannot convert stamp images into digital images if we so choose)

Mod - fixed link.

re: NFT ? WTF ?

It took long enough for something like this to appear!

Non-fungible (sp?)-tokens.

Crazy!

I buy "NFT's" but they are just digital books for my Kobo or Apple Books.

re: NFT ? WTF ?

Well I followed the link and hit "print screen". Anyone who wants a copy of this "masterpiece" can Paypal me $69M and I'll forward the file to you. Just make sure you click the "receipt confirmation" button at the bottom of the checkout screen, so the money isn't held up like our SOR dues!!!!
