On page 50 added one new stamp for Tanganyika - British Mandate from 1922, Scott #9 or SG #73. Stamp was issued following the British Mandate of a portion of German East Africa following World War I forming Tanganyika. First issued stamps were overprinted G.E.A. stamps for East Africa and Uganda Protectorates. This area is today a part of Tanzania.
Shortly after completing my first post I remembered an odd addition I had made to my International Junior 1930 copyright album of a mandated territory stamp for Tanganyika. After consulting the catalog realized that these stamps were part of the third group of stamps issued for the new Tanganyika mandate and added a second stamp to the Smithsonian album to highlight the change in designs and the use of the Mandated Territory of Tanganyika name. This stamp was issued in 1927 and the stamp is Scott #31 or SG #95. Amazingly I had a duplicate for this particular stamp!

On page 28 added 1 new stamp for Thrace from 1920, Scott #N16 or SG #46. This stamp was created by overprinting Bulgaria's 1919 issue. There are a wide variety of these overprinted issues with every direction conceivable for the overprint per the catalog.

This is a quite an interesting stamp for which the design definitely measures 19x22.5 mm and with perforations 10x10. Now if the perforations measured 11x11 it would truly be quite an interesting stamp! The centering of the design within the perforations is exceptional.

Updated last entry from Romania to the correct Albania for the country thanks to a note from a Stamporama member. Oops!
I added it to the album correctly but wrote the entry incorrectly as I was distracted by some new additions for Romania to my International albums. I can report that I have passed 4,000 stamps in the Part V album and am closing in on 34,000 stamps for my International 1840-1963 album set, just 96 stamps to go.

Actually I am a bit suspicious of the Stanley Gibbons catalog # as the listed catalog number from the Colnect site is actually for Scott #127 and none is given for Scott #143. The two stamps seem to differ in the amount of shading present on the collar as the most distinguishing difference.

I think your stamp is SG 157.
I believe the two below are SG 135 (left) and SG 157a (right).
I'm afraid they're not great examples!

Added for now since it is such a lovely stamp with great centering. "Instruccion" refers to Education but these issues do not appear to be listed in Scott. Any ideas?

Really enjoying this idea - how do you decide which stamp to choose. I sure I would dither over it for far too long! Do you think about what stamp is most appealing to you or is it by chance? I am curious to know

So far my selection depends on what appears as I look for items (or they are presented as options) when searching for my International album collection. At this point the stamps are primarily byproducts of that search rather than specific searches in themselves. I tend to have a preference for earlier issues from countries (and currently those stamps are those that have been showing up strangely enough).

Since I had so much fun building a collection based on the Smithsonian Stamp for Every Country Album I have decided to try again with it. So far I have printed off a copy of the album and added it to an available 3-ring padded binder with dust case acquired from a local stamp store. I printed the album on some rather spectacular looking 8.5x11 paper with gold edging acquired from Paper Direct.

On page 13, added new stamp for Chile from 1920, Scott #143 and SG #157. Actually I am a bit suspicious of the Stanley Gibbons catalog # as the listed catalog number from the Colnect site is actually for Scott #127 and none is given for Scott #143. The two stamps seem to differ in the amount of shading present on the collar as the most distinguishing difference.

I think your stamp is SG 157.
I believe the two below are SG 135 (left) and SG 157a (right).
I'm afraid they're not great examples!

On page 16, added new stamp for Venezuela from ?. This stamp showed up and is definitely from Venezuela but I am unable to identify it in the Scott catalog. Added for now since it is such a lovely stamp with great centering. "Instruccion" refers to Education but these issues do not appear to be listed in Scott. Any ideas?

Really enjoying this idea - how do you decide which stamp to choose. I sure I would dither over it for far too long! Do you think about what stamp is most appealing to you or is it by chance? I am curious to know

So far my selection depends on what appears as I look for items (or they are presented as options) when searching for my International album collection. At this point the stamps are primarily byproducts of that search rather than specific searches in themselves. I tend to have a preference for earlier issues from countries (and currently those stamps are those that have been showing up strangely enough).
