Hi Rob,

I dream of finding copies of the worlds rarest stamps, and just when I get hold of them, I wake up.

Incidently, did you see the report on TV re the British Guiana, 1 cent magenta.

It is being resold, and starting price is $10 million, the present owner wants $19 million.

Regards

Hi Horamakhet

Unusual dream, there is an old song of the 40's where one line says "one day your dreams will come true".

I missed it on TV but I did read about it. In my opinion the owner will not get his wish of $19 million dollars, I believe he was the person who drew a woman's stiletto shoe at the back of the stamp ruining it, as former owners only put their initials at the back.

There was a write-up about that shoe and the fact that it literally ruined the stamps value.

It will either be passed up, or the most he will make from the auction would be around $12-$15 million at the most.

Hi Rob,

I agree.

The stamp is becoming very faded, and the putting of intials on the back, in silver ink has further destroyed it.

Arthur Hind, when he bought the second copy that turned up, perhaps should not have burned it, but greed outweighs sense sometimes.

I have a feeling that another will eventually turn up, I just hope it is me that finds it.

Horamakhet.

Hi Horamakhet.

The Magenta is not a popular stamp as the collector who would buy stamps such as this as an investment see it as a liability and not as a potential profit maker. The idiot who put a stiletto at the back in silver ink literally ruined it.

Stupidity has its own reward and the owner will soon find out how foolish he was.
