I collect them as some issues that are very attractive but not with any intent to collect them all. Michel is the most complete in covering them but Scott has been adding some areas in recent catalogs. Of course, how they and sellers value them is another story.
Just checked my International album for stamps from Yemen and find that I have a total of 6 stamps for 1840 through 1963 so would be interested in any available mint stamps for that period from Yemen.
I collect the YEMEN ARAB REPUBLIC, but I have resisted expanding to the Mutawakelite KINGDOM of Yemen, or the P.D.R of Yemen or even to South Arabia. I have noticed as of late a lot more auction activity in some of these countries, possibly because there is now (some are still not in Scott) some coverage in S-G and possibly in Michel. And prices have risen a lot. Not sure why?
I am currently bogged down in the "wall paper" years of Yemen Arab Republic, 1967-72, when oversize thematic series were issue in perforated and imperforated sets, with corresponding S/S, and this is enough of a challenge as it is, both to find all series and S/S, and pricewise for some which seem to be primarily in the hands of dealers in Europe. So I will not expand my collection to the other Yemen related stamps.
I am interested in disposing of my holdings (Except for the Yemen Arab Republic (Y.A.R) which consist primarily of the KINGDOM of Yemen stamps. There will be individual stamps as well as sets. I plan to do it to interesting parties privately or in an Approval Books, at Club prices, (privately interested you can reach me by private message or email).
If there is no private interest, I am curious if there is any interest at all for Approval Book, or Auctions, before facing the task of organizing sales listings.
Similarly I have no interest in the various Emirate "DUNE Countries" stamps in the same geographical era (Ajman, Fujeira etc..) and curious if there is an interest. Lots of Topical stamps I must add.
Are there SOR club members interested in any or all of these "Dune Countries" ( Except for Yemen (Y A R) than I continue to collect?)
rrr....
